Total Mobile Power Ltd is
currently working on a new style light weight multi phase DC to AC power
inverter designed to minimise the stress on the battery bank supplying
the DC power. This will allow the construction of mains power supply
systems where the peak power demand can be drawn from the battery bank
and the ultimate source of the electrical power (i. e. generator etc)
need only charge the battery bank at the level of the average power
demand.
The generator or other power supply would not need to
be supply peak load power, nor need it run whenever mains power was
needed. As a result, a smaller device can be used in the power
configuration, and when it was run, could run at maximum efficiency.
Total Mobile Power Ltd has received grants from the
NZ Foundation for Research Science and Technology and NZ Trade and
Enterprise to assist the in the development and patenting of this
technology.
